Great Northern Spa is located between two fjords on the outskirts of Kerteminde, forming part of the wider Great Northern destination. Commissioned by Thomas Kirk Kristiansen, the 4,500 m² spa is designed as a calm retreat shaped by nature, light, and stillness. The architecture supports rest and restoration through a palette of stone, wood, and metal, echoing the surrounding landscape. Full-height windows draw in the changing Nordic light, while every surface and transition is crafted to slow the pace. Warm pools, quiet lounges, and contemplative spaces form a cohesive sequence grounded in materiality, rhythm, and a quiet sense of care.
